Allow me to share this Verse from Proverbs.  And a wonderful reflection.  

Proverbs 1:7 (NIV) states:

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction."

Reflection

This verse from the Book of Proverbs sets the tone for the entire collection of wisdom sayings. It presents a fundamental principle that underlies all true knowledge and understanding: a reverent and respectful fear of the Lord. It also contrasts the attitude of the wise with that of the foolish, highlighting the importance of humility and teachability.

The Fear of the Lord

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge": In the biblical context, "fear of the Lord" refers to a deep reverence, awe, and respect for God. It involves recognizing God's greatness, majesty, and authority, and it leads to a submissive and obedient attitude towards Him. This fear is not about being scared of God but about honoring Him as the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things. Wisdom vs. Foolishness

●     Seeking Wisdom: Be open to learning and growing in wisdom. Read the Bible, seek counsel from godly mentors, and be willing to accept correction and instruction. Recognize that true wisdom comes from God and is reflected in how you live your life.

●     Avoiding Foolishness: Reflect on your attitudes and behaviors to ensure you are not rejecting wisdom and instruction. Be mindful of pride and arrogance, and strive to be humble and teachable.

Believers can ask themselves: How can I deepen my reverence for God in my daily life? In what areas do I need to be more open to wisdom and instruction? How can I avoid the attitudes and behaviors of foolishness?
